Land rental for Tiny Houses: How it works

Welcome to the Tiny Houses Aus Matchmaker Service!

We know that one of the most daunting aspects of the tiny house journey is knowing you’ll be able to find somewhere to park your new home.

We also know that many traditional homeowners would appreciate some extra cash every week (for doing nothing!).

We love connecting land owners with spare space who would love to earn some extra cash with tiny home owners looking for a place to setup their new homes.

We actively seek out tiny home owners and land owners and when we find people with complimentary interests we introduce them.

We’ve refined and honed our approach over time and now we have a go-to-collection of platforms and resources that we use to help find you a tiny house parking space. That said, it isn’t always easy, and unfortunately we can’t guarantee anything.

$150 deposit down and we’ll jump in and start looking for your new home. If we don’t find a spot for you before you find one for yourself we’ll give you your money back.

Once we find some viable opportunities we’ll give you a run-down and if you like the sound of them we’ll ask for final payment of another $150 before handing over contact details. ($300 all up).

If they don’t turn into a successful tiny house placement, we will give your $300 back.

The going rate for tiny house land rental is usually around $100-$150 per week for land rental and varies according to the location and facilities provided.

If utilities are required/provided these are organised separately between the land owner and tiny house owner. (Water and Electricity for one person in a tiny house is on average less than a total of $10/week). Some arrangements include a flat weekly utilities fee whilst others choose to have separate measuring devices installed.

In some cases land owners are looking for help around the property and in this case a rental agreement can include rent that is subsidised with a certain number of work hours each week.

When two parties appear to be a good match we will provide some basic details about them to the other party whilst still protecting their identity/exact location.

If both parties are keen to move forward we will then share contact details and they can meet to see the site and discuss the potential arrangement in more detail.

If you would like to find a parking spot, please contact hello@tinyhousesaus.com.au and send through the following details:

— What area/suburbs you would like to live in

— The Id numbers of any existing listings that have caught your eye on this site.

— How many people will be living in your tiny house

— Does your tiny house need access to mains power?

— Does your tiny house need access to mains water?

— When you are hoping to move to your new parking spot

— How long you’re hoping to stay.

If you have land to share, please contact hello@tinyhousesaus.com.au send though the following details:

— Your name and address (Don’t worry this is private, see above for further info)

— Is there access to mains power* for a tiny house? Yes/No

— Is there access to mains water* for a tiny house? Yes/No

— When your parking spot is available from?

— Is it available long term?

— Your weekly rent amount

— Photos of your tiny house parking spot

*It’s ok if there’s no connection to mains power or water, this simply means your parking spot must be utilised by someone with a fully off-grid setup.
